Rainbow Family Therapy Service: Understanding Our Agreement

This document outlines the framework for our therapeutic partnership, covering how we work together, our administrative practices, fees, and the essential matter of confidentiality. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with these details. If anything is unclear, we encourage you to ask.

Our Practice: Who We Are
​
Rainbow Family Therapy Service is operated under Rainbow Parenting Practice and provides services to families who seek family therapy. We are dedicated to fostering healthier family dynamics. All our therapists are registered with relevant professional bodies, e.g., UKCP and adhere to their professional code of conduct.

Session Details and Financial Arrangements

Investment in Therapy: The cost of sessions varies based on the therapist's expertise and the type of therapeutic work. We'll clarify the fee before scheduling. Payment is expected upon booking your initial consultation. We accept bank transfers only.

In addition to scheduled appointments, clinicians reserve the right to charge their standard fees on a pro rata basis for other professional services that patients may require such as report writing, telephone conversations that last longer than 15 minutes, attendance at meetings or consultations which have been requested, or the time required to perform any other service which patient may request of their clinician.
All clinical fees should be settled within 14 days of the date of your invoice or statement. The Rainbow Parenting Practice - Rainbow Family Therapy Service reserves the right to charge an administration fee of 10% of the invoice or statement amount that remains outstanding after this time to cover the administrative costs associated with processing late payments.

Rescheduling and Cancellations: We request 7 days notice if you need to change or cancel an appointment for every regular appointments. Initial consultation can be rescheduled or cancelled 48 hours prior to the appointment without incur a fee. Without this notice, the full fee for the session fee will apply.

Session Time: If you arrive late, we'll still conclude the session at the scheduled time, and the full fee will be due.

Insurance Considerations: We do not work with insurance providers.

Respecting Your Privacy: We are committed to maintaining your confidentiality. Information shared in sessions is private, with exceptions in cases of:

Potential harm to yourself or others.

Suspected child abuse or neglect.

Legal requirements.

Your explicit consent.

Navigating Family Confidentiality: In family therapy, we may share information among family members when therapeutically beneficial, unless you specify otherwise. We'll discuss these boundaries during our initial meeting.​

GDPR
​
The Rainbow Parenting Practice is governed by the laws of the UK and Scotland and is therefore registered with the Information Commissioners Office.
​
Health Record Management
​
We will create and keep health records for you which will record all relevant information relating to the service provided to you. We may also collect and store health information about you from Third Parties such as your doctor or general practitioner. Your health records are managed and protected in accordance with all applicable local laws. Health records are legally required to be stored for a number of years following the conclusion of your work with us.

Our Therapeutic Process

Initial Meeting: Our first session allows us to understand your family's needs and goals.

Assessment and Planning: We may conduct more in-depth assessments to develop a tailored plan.

Collaborative Therapy: We'll work together to implement the plan and regularly review your progress.

Service Scope and Limitations

Our Expertise: We provide family therapy for a variety of issues families are experiencing such as e.g., communication challenges, family conflict, parenting support.

Limitations: We are not a crisis service. For emergencies, please contact emergency services or a crisis hotline. We may refer you to other specialists if needed.

Addressing Concerns
​
If you have any concerns about our services, please discuss them with your therapist.
​
Complaints
​
If you have any concerns about the service you receive please bring this up with your clinician in the first instance. Your clinician will be happy to discuss any concerns you might have. If you do not feel that your clinician has responded adequately to your concern, or you do not feel comfortable discussing gate issue with them, you can contact the Clinical Director directly:

The Clinical Director will assess and respond to your concerns in writing. If you remain concerned about the level of care you have received you may direct your complaint to a clinician’s governing body, the contact details for which are listed below:
